WELCOME

A massive welcome to all those joining us at The University of Exeter in September 2022. We cannot wait to meet you all and look forward to you joining the LARGEST Mixed Lacrosse Club in the country!

We are one of the largest mixed sporting clubs at Exeter and boast not only 7 competitive BUCS teams but also a strong social atmosphere with mixed socials every week. We welcome anyone and everyone into our club, whether you are an international player or someone who has never picked up a stick before. Pre-season Dates

Pre-season is not compulsory and it will not jeopardize your attempt in making a BUCS team if you cannot attend. However, if you have played before and to a good level, please do come along! To all those interested, the dates are as follows:

Women's Preseason 5th-14th September

Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships are primarily awarded to students of senior international and NCAA division 2 standard or above. Applications from prospective students competing at junior international level are also encouraged. We are committed to supporting individuals who are part of a national age group squad and those with aspirations to play at senior international level. Each Scholarship is tailored to the individual needs of the athlete, helping them reach their full potential.

  • Up to £2,000 in sports funding

  • A support package worth up to £3,500

  • Strength and Conditioning Individual sports mentoring

  • Athlete lifestyle support

 

Scholarship applications are open from October - March each year.

High Performance Programme

Lacrosse is one of the University of Exeter’s Nine Focus Sports and receives specialist training and support as part of the High Performance Programme. HPP lacrosse players benefit from a number of specialist support services including:

 

Women's Lacrosse 1st Team

  • Three on pitch training sessions every week

  • Two strength and conditioning sessions per week

  • Access to physio consultations and reduced treatment rates

  • BUCS Premier League matches

  • Regular team video analysis sessions

Men's Lacrosse 1st Team

  • Three on pitch training sessions every week

  • BUCS Premier League matches

 

Access to a range of support services provided by the High Performance unit including:

  • S&C (strength and conditioning) - access to the Athlete Development Centre (ADC) for squad specific sessions and open sessions, specific term time and holiday programmes, fitness testing and monitoring

  • Sports Science support- nutrition, psychology, performance analysis, athlete lifestyle support and an annual fitness testing package

  • Physiotherapy-subsidised physiotherapy and sports massage, access to weekly physiotherapy triage sessions both provided by Ocean Physio and rehab

  • Workshops-including employability, nutrition, psychology, student athlete lifestyle management
