Women's Beginners
EULC welcomes members of all abilities, including those who have never picked up a stick before. This year the ladies beginners’ squad have come on a storm. Starting the year with an intake of around 60 girls, having never picked up a lacrosse stick in their lives, they have all learnt the rules of the game, stick-work skills and game awareness, (and even a few tactics!) during two training sessions a week coached by experienced players. In November 2018, we took part in the annual beginners tournament which we host, ‘Freshfest’, competing against other southern university beginners teams. Despite being only two months into training, the girls played exceptionally well and came out at tournament champions, winning 3-0 in the final.
A number of girls move up throughout the year to our 'Development Squad', who, for the first time in the 2018-19 season, will be competing as a 5th BUCS team.
